We have often taken for granted the talent and skills we owned and we don’t know we had until someone/something made us realized that yes we can do such things!

Coming from an underdeveloped country and all the more in the countryside, we only know simple things: to eat, sleep, make a simple living, play with other kids, make babies and produce more kids. I felt like people had no idea of the outside world other than the world I grew up with.

Thanks to this record-breaking pandemic, I came back after nearly 2 decades of being away from home. I got stuck and I’m still stuck.

While trying to figure out the things I could do, friends and family meetups and learned from new acquaintances how they’re coping and holding up life in the small town, I realized that something’s never changed.

People just love to day-dream. People wish they have this and that but they’re not doing anything. People are contented though feeling miserable with their way of living.

I tried to help not financially but to make people realize that they can do more than just sitting down, waiting for miracles to happen & to give them fortune they wish they have. I helped people realize their potentials, earn and make a living out of their passion, talent and skills.

I remembered when I was abroad, Filipinos are labelled as “Domestic Helpers”. Sure, we are! We helped people clean up their mess, babysit, take care of the elders but we are earning an income and gain some experiences. We have helped several households and they too helped us in return by helping us provide for the family at home.

I shared some of these experiences to friends and explore the possibilities of making money with their passion, talent and skills.

Filipinos love to entertain people and I think we are being called the most “Hospitable” on earth. Probably there are only few who are snob but I can’t blame them. They sure have reasons for it.

I thought these fellows can do something to earn extra income, start a business with zero capital. People need to start somewhere and they should start for what they can offer: passion, talent and skills.

  1. Sing, Dance, Hosting/Emcee, Musical Instrument tutor and teacher
  2. Health Coach
  3. Writer, Storyteller, Reader
  4. Motivational Speaker and teach kids, grown-ups to have the courage to speak in front of the people and build the confidence
  5. Photographs for weddings, birthdays, etc.
  6. Makeup tutorial or teach people to do it.
  7. Nail cleaner or designing your nails.
  8. If you love to cook, partner with food companies and deliveries to make your menus available for the public to order online.
  9. If you have a motorcycle, you can use that to partner with food delivery companies.
  10. If you have a car, use it for car rental but ensure that the people are not criminals or no criminal records.
  11. If you have a printer, offer that to students and neighbours without it as a service.
  12. If you love to clean and do the dishes, offer that service to other households and small restaurants.
  13. Offer your service to be a caregiver
  14. Teach people the basics of computer especially those who are aspiring to work in the corporate world or in government agencies.
  15. If you have the background of a Human Resources, offer your service to help people make resumes and application letter. Or you can help them with Q&A on how to get a job they desire.
  16. If you have the talent to lead people or motivate people to lead, teach them. Or you can facilitate team building activities.
  17. If you know how to book tickets online, you can offer that as a service as long as you are a trust-worthy individual.
  18. If you have the talent to solve someone’s problem, offer that as a service or just be there to listen to people.
  19. You can work as a waiter or bartender.
  20. You can help people learn how to design a website

And many others…….

The other parts of the world are more advanced but in our world, we’re far from it.

Never mind what other people might say, this is your life. If you strive to live and got nowhere to go, nowhere to start. Begin with what you, Yourself can offer! Your Passion, Talent, Skills as a Service and I call it PTaSkaaS.

All the best!

Cheers,

eL
